Absolutely. It's free advertising for you from Google, which is never a bad thing.


Google finds importance in your business when you claim your listing. Claiming your GMB listing is a great start, but if you're maximizing it, you are taking up as much space as possible in your local service area. By not optimizing your listing, you may begin to fall behind as your competitors gain more traction.


The information on your GMB could be the determining factor in whether or not someone chooses your business. There are many pieces of GMB you can take advantage of, photos are one of them. Your cover photo shows up first for your listing, followed by additional images you upload and some that your customers may upload. According to Google, businesses with photos receive 35% more clicks to their website and 42% more requests for driving directions in Google Maps.


In short, it is not only worth it but crucial that you claim your Google My Business listing.
