Currently we're facing tough times with COVID-19 and being quarantined. Some businesses have had to close for the time being, others have been able to continue remotely.

Right now, for some places of business it's a good time to regroup {separately} and iterate to adjust to a temporary normal. Since most interactions are happening online more than ever, now is the chance to get your business presence out there if you haven't already.

Not only is Pinterest enjoyable, it can be the perfect way to boost business marketing. It is definitely something to consider, but you don’t want to just jump on the band wagon without making a plan.

What are some of the reasons Pinterest is great for marketing? There are many, but here are just 5 reasons:

1. Demographics & Target Market

To start, is your tribe here- what is your target demographic?

In 2020, Pinterest is projected to hit 86 million monthly active users in the US. That’s a lot of people! Chances are, your target market is in there. 71% of users are female, popular for ages 25-54, so if your target falls within that realm, it could be a good fit.

2. Visual Appeal {if done correctly}

The great thing about Pinterest compared to some other platforms, if done well, you can portray ideas in a visually appealing way. The founder, Ben Silbermann called it a “catalogue of Ideas” and a “visual discovery tool”. Those are the perfect descriptives.

If you have great images and content to pin, this can help give a customer a good sense of what your business is about.

3. Domino Effect

When you pin, followers see the pin and pin it to their board, which shows on their followers feeds, and so on. Potential followers see a suggested pin, which if they like it, they can pin and put it on their board. It helps create an organic chain of sharing.

4. Tailwind Analytics

The great thing for marketing on Pinterest, is you can sign up for Tailwind to schedule and plan your pins. This is optimal for strategizing so everything you post has a purpose. You can easily do this without it taking up time each week.

The great thing? You can see extended analytics! This will help you to adjust and test as you go to see what’s worked really well or what you need to change.

5. Traffic

Since there are so many users, the amount of potential traffic is high. Who doesn’t want a piece of that?

You can promote pins relatively inexpensively depending on your budget. Three of the main goals you can set with Pinterest ads, which drive some of the cost are: building awareness, boosting engagement and driving web traffic.

Time to start pinning!
