Imagine you're a limo driver in Florida. You want your ad to appear when locals search for terms like "limo service" or "limo driver." However, you definitely don't want your ad popping up for searches like "limo driver careers" or "limo driver salaries."


Enter negative keywords! In this scenario, "careers" and "salaries" would be designated as negative keywords, ensuring your ad reaches the right audience without wasting impressions on irrelevant searches.


It's essential to use negative keywords strategically. While too many negatives can limit your reach, employing them wisely can significantly boost the effectiveness of your Google Ads.

Negative keywords are needed to run your Google Ads Successfully. They provide a valuable service, tightening your ad groups by preventing your ad from appearing in front of people searching for things unrelated to your products or services.


Here’s an example.


Let’s say you’re a limo driver in Florida. You want your ad to appear when people in your area search for things like “limo service” or “limo driver.”


But you don’t want to appear when people search in your area for “limo driver careers” or “limo driver salaries.”


Enter negative keywords! In this example, “careers” and “salaries” would be your negative keywords.


You don’t want to use too many negative keywords, which can shrink your audience pool. But using them strategically can absolutely help your Google Ads succeed.
